I love making fractals when I have the time. My favorite program for making my fractals is ChaosPro, a freeware fractal generator. It has been a while since I have used it since I stopped using Windows. When I have the time again, I will see how well it runs under WINE for linux.
ChaosPro has a lot of options and variables. You wont see any in my gallery, but this program also does Quaternions, and Attractors. I really love the fractals that I create with this program, and it is great that it is freeware. It is still actively updated by the author as of November 2011. Check it out at the link below, I think ChaosPro is one of the greatest fractal programs, especially now that quad processors are standard on new computers.

Update
ChaosPro is able to run in WINE. I used PlayOnLinux to install ChaosPro 4.0, and it works. This is under Ubuntu 11.04. I think it is not necessary to use PlayOnLinux, and just run it in WINE straight away.
